On the first exam we will perform an evaluation and take radiographs.  Treatment for ankle arthritis begins conservatively with physical therapy, bracing, NSAIDs, and possible cortisone injections.  If conservative treatment fails, advanced imaging is often ordered to assess for need for surgical intervention.  Surgical intervention may include ankle arthroscopy or ankle arthrodesis.
