When a patient presents with corns, there is usually an underlying osseous deformity such as hammertoes.  Corns are debrided carefully.  Conservative treatment begins with topical medication like urea, change in shoe gear, and orthotics.  If corns persist are painful, surgical intervention can be pursued to treat the underlying osseous deformity leading to the corns.
